A century of stories in brick and stone
Stou Savvide has been part of the heart of Pera Pedi for nearly a century.
Originally built in 1927 by Nikolaos Chatziantona for his daughter Despina, the house evolved through two later extensions, the last completed before 1960. Over the years, it became a place of gathering and meaning for the village.
For almost 45 years, it was home to the Pancyprian Physiotherapy Association, known locally as the “Pera-Pedi Hotel.” Under the care of the late Savvas Savvides, the physiotherapy center welcomed visitors from across Cyprus and beyond. People came not only for treatment, but also for the warmth and spirit of “the Teacher,” whose name became inseparable from the village itself.
After his passing, the building fell into decline. Today, with great care and respect for its history, we are proud to have lovingly restored it. With minimal interventions and a focus on preserving its soul, Stou Savvide once again opens its doors—ready to write new stories while honoring the old.
Nestled among vineyards and mountain air, the house now offers guests a unique chance to experience Cypriot heritage firsthand. Whether you come for a peaceful retreat, a special celebration, or simply to enjoy village life, you’ll find both history and hospitality alive within these stone walls.
History of Stou Savvide
The Beginning
The house was first built, crafted in stone with the charm and character of traditional Cypriot architecture. It became a family home and part of the village’s story.
Growing Stronger
Two careful extensions were added, expanding the house into the structure we know today. Each addition was designed to blend seamlessly with the original stonework.
A Pause in Time
After decades of life and activity, the house fell silent. For many years, it stood still — a sleeping landmark in the heart of Pera Pedi.
A New Chapter Begins
Renovation work started, guided by a vision to restore the home’s character while preparing it for a new purpose. Every detail was treated with respect for its history.
Doors Open Again
Almost a century later, the house is reborn. With its history preserved and spirit renewed, it is ready to welcome guests into its story once more.
